What do I miss most about old Seoul? Frugality. Seoul was a city once whose success was measured in its savings rate, not its consumption rate, a city in which you made a simple lunch at home and took it to work in a little lunch box. Those metallic lunchboxes were beautifully designed and produced absolutely no waste. The chopsticks and the box (often containing boxes within it) were wrapped up in a cloth and simply taken home.
