Professor Scott Strobel, Vice President of Yale for West Campus, visited Seoul National University Advanced Institutes of Convergence Technology and Kyung Hee University on November 4, 2011. At Kyung Hee University he delivered a fascinating talk about Yale’s West Campus project and how a group of far-sighted individuals at Yale came together to launch an incredibly ambitious project to take Yale to the forefront of the bio-medical fields in spite of the serious economic downturn. Scott stressed the importance of vision and commitment and talked at length about the challenges of innovating in an institution that is 300 years old. Professor Strobel explained how Yale acquired the North American R&D center for Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
