My friend Iwabuchi Hideki, currently working for the Ministry of Education,Culture,Sports,Science & Technology, published a very interesting book this month in which he and his colleagues offer an interpretation of Korea\u2019s success in science and technology aimed at a Japanese audience, suggesting, in a sense, that Japan think of a \u201cKorea as Number One.\u201d<\/p>\n
The book, How Korean Science and Technology Succeeds in Global Competition<\/em>, was the result of a research project carried out by the Japan Science and Technology Agency. Emphasis falls on the remarkable degree to which Korean companies reinvested the profits of sales into the continued development of new technologies.
